COMPARATIVES:

We use comparative adjectives to compare two things, people, places,etc.
 
Londres es más lluvioso que Sevilla
María es más alta que Juan
 
Ese "MÁS QUE" en inglés se dice de varias formas, dependiendo si son adjectives largos o cortos.
 
London is rainier than Seville
Mary is more intelligent than John.
 
 
Short adjectives: 1 syllable or 2-syllable adjective eding in -y

adjective + ‘er’  than

 Examples:

  • louder
  • smaller

⚠️⚠️ BUT WATCH OUT:⚠️⚠️

 1 syllable  and ending in consonant+vowel+consonant, we double the last consonant and we add ER. Take a look at this chart:

A simile is a figure of speech that directly compares two different things.

As busy as a bee = to be moving about quickly doing many things

As delicate as a flower = fragile

As easy as ABC = very simple

As easy as pie = very easy

As free as a bird = free to go anywhere

As gentle as a lamb = very gentle

As happy as a dog with two tails = very happy

As strong as an ox  = very strong

As stubborn as a mule  = very obstinate
