Word of the Week is a project to build an understanding of essential vocabulary in students. One vocabulary word will be presented each week.
- The “Word of the Week” will be announced daily
- Students are challenged to use the word as many times as they can during the day, at lunch or at recess throughout the week.
- Parents can be challenged to try to guess the word of the day on Monday night by noticing overuse of the word by the student.
- Teacher will use multiple resources to encourage integrated use of the words
- Students are encouraged to use of the words in their writing
- Parents could ask students about the words
- Teacher will put the "Word of the Week" in our newsletter and/or on our website: https://classroomdictionary.blogspot.com/
